There are many people who are making active efforts to ensure that flood-affected families are getting the food and help that they require. According to an article recently published by The Indian Express, on the 18th of July, Guru Nanak Seva Samiti took two cars to Mayur Vihar.

Both of them were filled with packets of food that were distributed among the flood-hit families. Many of them were people whose homes had been washed away in the flood.

The organisation has also supplied other essential items to many elderly people and younger children. Another person named Surjit Thakur, who is 28 years old, set up a tempo at Ashok Vihar with the help of his friends. They carry buckets and pans of dal and chawal and distribute the food to those who need it.

Many camps have been set up at Mayur Vihar all the way to the Akshardham temple. People residing there have stated that almost every day, there are people who come to distribute food. Dal Chawal and water bottles are among the most common items that are distributed since they are the most cost-effective.

While many are grateful for the temporary tents set up for them, it has been noted that the tents are not warm and are wet. Flood victims are facing a lot of difficulties in these tents. If such conditions persist, the victims will face even more difficulties.
