If there is one thing we Indians take complete pride in, then it has to be our food! From a burst of flavours to a mind-boggling variety of dishes, Indian cuisine rarely disappoints. So, when TasteAtlas ranked India 12th on its ‘100 Best Cuisines in the World’ list, we took it with a pinch of salt. But it looks like US-based digital creator Ed Nathanson (@ed_nathanson) was having none of it. His hilarious rant about the rankings has struck a chord with desi netizens, and you just can’t miss it!

Digital creator Ed Nathanson is a self-proclaimed ‘Snackmaster General,’ and he often tries and gives his honest opinion about viral food trends and dishes. One scroll down his Instagram profile and you’ll know that the man loves Indian food, and his reaction to India’s ranking on TasteAtlas’ ‘100 Best Cuisines in the World’ list makes complete sense.
Earlier in the month, TasteAtlas shared its annual list and placed India at the 12th rank. While it might not look as bad, it didn’t feel right that the country that is known for its diverse cuisines didn’t make it to the top 10. Here comes Ed’s reaction to this list, and it’s basically what every Indian felt when they saw the list for the first time.

“This list cannot be serious! India is 12th…12th?! Behind Poland? Behind countries where flavour means putting mustard on something! I’m part Polish, and I can say that’s not right! You’re telling me that the country that gave us biryani, butter chicken, samosa, vada pav, pani puri, dosa, and 600 kinds of chutneys is not in the top 10?” he ranted out hilariously.
In the caption, he added, “This is not just a bad list—it’s culinary disrespect. Defend the chutney.”
Desi Netizens Say, “This Man’s Got Taste!”
As you can imagine, desi netizens loved Ed’s reaction to India’s ranking on TasteAtlas’ ‘100 Best Cuisines in the World’ list. One of them commented, “I have initiated the process of your Aadhar card; it will take 5-6 business days.”
Another hilarious comment read, “An American voting for Indian food???? Man’s got taste!!!”
“The land of spices is 12th. Woah,” a clearly unimpressed netizen commented on the post.
“Taste buds failed TasteAtlas,” another comment read.
