If you thought that chole and bhature are the ultimate breakfast of the champions, then people in Dehradun would beg to differ! What’s Chole Katlambe And How Is It Different From Bhature?

You can visit each state of India and still be surprised by the diversity of food and flavours that the country has to offer! Adding to the ever-growing regional food list is Dehradun’s chole katlambe for us. A famous breakfast option for the people in the city, the dish greatly resembles chole bhature. However, unlike the soft and fluffy bhature, katlambe is flaky and crispy but it still goes amazingly with spicy chole.

As per The Times of India report, the dough for Dehradun’s katlambe is made with rice flour and does not contain baking soda (unlike bhature). This helps give this flatbread a crispy and crunchy texture. Katlambe, originally, is a part of Baloch cuisine and over the years, has now become an inseparable part of Dehradun’s culinary scene!
