The Sri Ram Lila Society in the Dwarka area of Delhi has claimed to have erected the tallest Ravan effigy in India. Standing a spectacular height of 211 feet, this effigy took over four months to complete. Also, for the Ramlila this year, the committee auditioned over 400 artists from across Delhi-NCR to bring the best talent on the stage.

This Dussehra, Delhi is set to witness the ‘dahan’ of the tallest Ravan effigy in India! The Sri Ram Lila Society has installed a 211-foot-tall effigy of Ravan in Sector 10 of Dwarka, Delhi. As per an NDTV report, it took more than four months to complete and install this massive structure that will be set on fire on October 12, 2024.

As per Sri Ram Lila Society’s claim, this is the tallest Ravan effigy in India this year and it is sure to steal the show! The committee has also invited PM Narendra Modi to be a part of this celebration, although he hasn’t confirmed his presence at the event yet.

To ensure utmost safety, the committee has also heightened the security around the premises. Over 50 Delhi Police personnel, 200 volunteers, and more than 100 civil officers will be guarding the venue during the celebration.

This Year’s Ramlila Is Inspired By Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir

Besides erecting the tallest Ravan effigy in India, Sri Ram Lila Society is also hosting the 12th edition of Ramlila this year. As per NDTV’s report, the theme of this year’s Ramlila is the Ram Mandir temple in Ayodhya. For this, the committee has decorated the pandal with decor inspired by the Ram Temple. Also, the entry gates of the pandal are designed in the style of South Indian temples or ‘Gopuram’.

As per reports, to bring the best talent on stage, the committee auditioned over 400 artists in the city. They handpicked some of the best acting talent in Delhi-NCR to ensure that people have the best experience while watching the show.
