The travel industry saw significant relief after being badly hit by the pandemic for two years. A huge number of people are heading to various destinations, both domestically and internationally. But do you know which destinations Indian travellers are increasingly choosing, making it their most preferred destination? Well, a report by Booking.com reveals Delhi, Dubai, Bangkok, and more to be on the list of most preferred destinations. Let’s know the full list and report. 

Delhi, Dubai, Bangkok Are The Most Preferred Destinations

Travel aggregator Booking.com has collated data and created a report on the travel preferences of Indian travellers. This report included the travel preferences of Indian and international travellers travelling to and within India during the first half of 2023.

During the first half of 2023, the domestic destinations that have topped the chart are New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, and Gurgaon. It also included beautiful hill stations like Rishikesh and Manali. The list of domestic destinations also had the heritage city of Jaipur on it. 

Talking about the most preferred international destinations, the list included names like Dubai, London, Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Paris.

The report also included a list of the top countries from which travellers visited India. The largest number of visitors came from the United Kingdom, United States, UAE, Russia, and Bangladesh. The cities in India that they travelled to were destinations like Kolkata, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and New Delhi. 

In the first half of 2023, it was seen that a hotel is not the only accommodation that people decide to opt for. The list also included options like apartments, resorts, villas, guest houses, bed and breakfasts, homestays, hostels, and lodges.

A high level of optimism is seen in consumer behaviour during the first half of 2023. 86% of Indian travellers are actually very optimistic about their travel plans in the upcoming 12 months.
