On November 28, at around 11:48 AM, an explosion was reported near a PVR cinema in the Prashant Vihar area of Delhi. Reportedly, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) will assist the police in investigating the cause of this blast.
Explosion Heard Near PVR In Delhi’s Prashant Vihar
At around 11:48 AM today, a blast was heard near the PVR multiplex in Prashant Vihar, Delhi. As per a News18 report, the blast took place near the boundary wall of a park in the area, right outside Bansi Sweets. A PCR call was immediately made and the fire brigade rushed to the location.
Thankfully, no casualties have been reported in the blast. However, the driver of a three-wheeler parked near the spot of the blast suffered minor injuries. As per an NDTV report, the Special Cell of Delhi Police also reached the site of the explosion soon after. A bomb detection team and a dog squad were also called in to inspect the area thoroughly.
Police Rushes To The Spot To Investigate
This incident is concerning as it comes only a month after a similar blast took place in the city. In October, an explosion was reported near the CRPF school in Prashant Vihar, Delhi. As per reports, the police have found a white powder-like substance near the explosion site near the PVR Cinema. This, again, is similar to the powder substance that was found by the investigation team on October 20 after the CRPF school blast.
Furthermore, various media outlets have suggested that the NIA now will assist Delhi Police in the investigation. As for now, the police have cordoned off the area and have mentioned that it was a low-intensity blast.
More details on this incident are awaited.
