Delhi has been experiencing tumultuous weather over the past few days. With increasing rains and thunderstorms, many airlines and even the Delhi Airport have now issued advisories asking passengers to keep a close check on their flight status, as several operations may be affected. Read on to know more.
Airlines Issue Weather-Related Advisories Amidst Delhi Rains
Several Indian airlines, including SpiceJet, IndiGo, and Air India, have issued travel advisories for passengers travelling to and from Delhi. This comes after the city has been witnessing heavy rainfall for the past few days. The airlines have requested passengers to regularly check the status of their flights to avoid last-minute changes.
SpiceJet posted its advisory on X yesterday, warning that many flights might be affected due to the ongoing weather conditions. Similarly, IndiGo also issued a statement urging passengers to leave early for the airport, as the rain has led to ‘heavier than usual’ traffic on Delhi roads. The advisory adds that arriving early could help passengers enjoy a more relaxed check-in process and avoid any last-minute rush.

Delhi Airport Urges Travellers To Check Flight Status
Not just the airlines, even Delhi Airport has issued a weather advisory. Travellers have been asked to check the latest flight information with their respective airlines before heading to the airport, as operations might be impacted due to the rains. The advisory urged passengers to use alternative modes of transport, such as the Delhi Metro, to reach the airport and avoid potential delays on jammed roads. Air India, too, released a similar advisory asking passengers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi is currently under a red alert. The national capital has been witnessing heavy rainfall, which has led to waterlogged roads and traffic jams across several areas. The weather has also disrupted flight operations at the airport.
