On December 9, Jungle Jamboree Restaurant in Delhi’s Rajouri Garden caught fire. A massive fire broke out at a large building in this area that included establishments such as this restaurant, commercial properties, an animation institute, shops, and more. Fire Broke Out At Jungle Jamboree Restaurant In Delhi’s Rajouri Garden

Taking to the X platform, B S Vohra (@vohrabs) shared videos of the alarming incident reported on Monday.

Following the major fire that broke out at Jungle Jamboree restaurant and its building, a woman suffered from injuries as she slipped on stairs. There are no reports of any casualties. Videos making rounds on social media platforms show how black sheets of smoke and fumes covered the area completely. A crowd of people was seen standing nearby shockingly. To bring the situation under control and rescue about 80 people, 1o fire tenders visited the accident spot.

A necessary probe started right after to find out the cause triggering the horrifying accident in Rajouri Garden. According to a report by The Times of India, police suspected the fire spread from the Jungle Jamboree restaurant. The preliminary stage of inspection resulted in the officials doubting a short circuit was the primary reason behind this alarming accident at the building.

On Tuesday, the Delhi Police lodged an FIR against the owner of this restaurant for summoning. The case comes under sections of the BNS regarding negligent conduct and acts endangering people’s safety. According to a report by The Indian Express, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Delhi) Vichitra Veer stated that the FIR has been registered “under relevant sections based on prima facie evidence.”

A Delhi Fire Service officer stated that Jungle Jamboree Restaurant allegedly did not own any Fire Safety Certificate (FSC) or No Objection Certificate (NOC). Back in October 2024, the Municipal Corporation Department ordered the restaurant to close its doors after removing the Fire Safety Certificate. Last month, the concerned authorities also cancelled its Health Trade License.
