Last week, Delhi witnessed some very dense fog which impacted air travel to and from the National Capital significantly. Now, it seems that the dense fog is back and has blanketed the city once again and is posing a challenge for pilots and airlines alike. A number of flights have been delayed owing to the fog and it seems that it might be a while before the weather clears up again.
Delhi Fog Settles Over City Once Again; Disrupts Air Travel
According to an article which was recently published by The Financial Express, the fog engulfed the national capital on the morning of January 29. This resulted in a significant disruption in flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International Aiport or IGIA.
As per information from the Flight Information Display Board or FIDB, a number of international as well as domestic flights have been delayed. The article also went on to specify that some of the international flights which were delayed were to countries like Bangkok, Copenhagen, Frankfurt and Riyadh.
This is not the first time that flights have been affected by dense fog in Delhi. Just last week it so happened that a number of flights were delayed – with some even being cancelled – at the IGIA. It caused a lot of inconvenience for airlines and passengers alike.
