According to an article which was recently published by Zeebiz, the NDMC has decided to double the car parking fee on the road. Where previously, owners of four-wheelers paid ₹20 per hour, they will now have to pay ₹40 per hour.
Owners of two-wheelers, on the other hand, will now have to pay ₹20 instead of ₹10. Buses will have to pay ₹300 per hour instead ₹150. These rates have been decided under the GRAP Stage II.
It is hoped that this increase in price will make motorists use their vehicles more discerningly. This, in turn, will reduce the air pollution in the city. GRAP stands for the Graded Response Action Plan which is a set of steps taken by the officials to reduce pollution in the city.

Delhi is yet again grappling with poor air quality. Harrowing pictures and videos are being shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) that show how bad the air quality is. Large swathes of the city are blanketed in thick smog.
Such a dense fog can lead to a number of health and respiratory issues and is not good for the environment either. It is hoped that the smog will subside soon and that people’s health will not be as adversely affected.
