One of the pros of living in metro cities is the access to quick and affordable transportation facilities connecting several bustling areas. Metro services play an integral part in linking different parts of Delhi and providing a smooth mode of transport to commuters. Now, the Delhi Metro has launched a bike taxi service for passengers and here’s all you need to know about the latest announcement.

Delhi Metro Introduced An All-New Bike Taxi Service

Taking to the X platform, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (@OfficialDMRC) shared pictures of the newest launch.

Dr Vikas Kumar, DMRC Managing Director, launched the exciting facility on November 11. Looks like this new transportation facility is all set to be an excellent solution for passengers to get swift travel options, even during the busy peak hours. DMRC launched the services with the First And Last Mile Connectivity India Pvt. Ltd.

Now, commuters can easily book these bike taxis using the Delhi Sarthi 2.0 app, Delhi Metro’s official mobile app. The app has all the options to book a ride and reach your destination conveniently. This mobile app by Delhi Metro offers all kinds of services on the same platform and makes the experience hassle-free.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation shared necessary updates about the grand introduction of the bike taxi service. There are two bike ride options; RYDR and SHERYDS. Every passenger can book RYDR service to reach their destinations. On the other hand, SHERYDS is only for women, by women. Currently, the bike ride service is available from Dwarka Mor, Dwarka Sec-10, Dwarka Sec-14, Dwarka Sec-21, Janakpuri West, Kirti Nagar, Millennium City Centre Gurugram, Palam, Rajouri Garden, Subhash Nagar, and Uttam Nagar East.

Information About RYDR & SHERYDS

Right now, Delhi Metro is operating 50 RYDR and SHERYDS from the above-mentioned stations. Starting from 8 AM to 9 PM, this service will take commuters within a radius of around 3 to 5 km from the stations.

Here’s about RYDR:

  • RYDR’s goal is to optimise “rider routes and ensure shorter, more efficient travel times.”
  • It prioritises safety and less travel time.
  • This facility is for all commuters of Delhi Metro.

Here’s about SHERYDS:

  • This initiative is specially dedicated to women commuters.
  • It opens doors to job opportunities for women drivers.
  • The concept of “for women, by women” is a safer alternative.
