Delhi has been witnessing heavy rain for about two days. Different areas of the national capital experienced massive downpours in the wee hours of Sunday. Delhiites are sharing visuals of places with waterlogging all around. 10 September marks the second day of the G20 Summit and the change in weather is turning out to be a major problem at the venue already.
Delhi Rain: Waterlogging At Bharat Mandapam
Taking to the X (formerly Twitter) platform, Rishi Raj Goel (@AapKaRishiraj) shared a video of a flooded Bharat Mandapam. This is the venue of the ongoing G20 Summit where all the world leaders and delegates are visiting for the meeting.
Among several locations in and around Delhi, the Pragati Maidan area received heavy rainfall in the early morning of Sunday. The arrangements of developments for the G20 summit are extraordinary and phenomenal. Many steps have been taken for welcoming the guests and the smooth continuation of the summit. In between all these, the flooding and waterlogging in and near the venue of the G20 Summit is a concern. To control the situation and remove the rainwater from the area, concerned authorities have been working with machines since the early morning.
India Meteorological Department took to the X platform and shared a rainfall sheet of the city. Light to moderate intensity rainfall with thunderstorms is expected to continue in Delhi-NCR.

Here’s another video of waterlogging areas in the capital city shared by Abbhimanyu Syaal (@abhisyal) on the X platform.
- The Pragati Maidan area in the city witnessed rainfall of about 7.5 mm. In fact, it rained on Saturday as well. Downpours of both these days turned to a waterlogging situation similar to floods.
- Many locations in the NCR area, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh are expected to receive drizzling rain, according to a report by LiveMint.
- The temperature decreased to some extent on Saturday and the same is expected on Sunday too.
- Predictions state that there are chances of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms on 10 September.
