A few sunny days then the cold winter awaits! That’s not just our poor attempt at rhyming but what Delhi NCR weather has been over the last few days! After a sunny day on Saturday, Delhi woke up to another day of fog with a minimum temperature of 6° Celsius on Sunday. Thankfully due to slight winds, the AQI in the city went from ‘severe’ to ‘very poor’. Here’s what the India Meteorological Department has predicted for the city for the next few days.
Poor AQI With Slight Fog Return To Delhi After A Sunny Day
On January 28, Delhi woke up to a minimum temperature of 6° Celsius. This is three degrees below the season’s average! While there are still slightly foggy conditions, the visibility around the city has improved over the last few days. As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a partly cloudy sky with shallow fog conditions will be seen in Delhi From January 28 to 30.
This is quite a turn from the weather that the city witnessed on Saturday. With clearer skies, slight winds, and the sun shining bright throughout the morning, January 27 was quite a break from Delhi’s usual winter mornings. While cold winters are back for another few days, air quality seems to have improved in Delhi NCR. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), due to the windy weather, the AQI in Delhi went from ‘severe’ to ‘very poor’. In Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad, the AQI improved from ‘very poor’ to ‘poor’ in just one day.

Cloudy Sky With Drizzle Anticipated Over The Next Few Days
From January 31 to February 1, IMD has predicted a generally cloudy sky with light rain or drizzle and fog in Delhi. In an official statement by IMD, due to high wind speeds, the visibility will be better over the next few days. However, “a western disturbance will impact the area with slight rain around January 31.” Therefore, a drop in temperature might continue till then.
