In a move to promote sustainable development, the Delhi government has announced plans to establish India’s first integrated e-waste eco park at Holambi Kalan in northwest Delhi. India’s First E-Waste Eco Park To Open In Delhi

According to NDTV, Delhi will soon be home to India’s first e-waste eco park. Delhi’s Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa announced the plans for the park and said that the “days of careless dumping are behind us”. Delhi government is inviting “the world’s best green technology partners to build” India’s first e-waste eco park.

The eco-park will span over 11.4 acres and will be equipped to process up to 51,000 metric tonnes of e-waste each year. It will have cutting-edge facilities and will be able to process all waste listed under 106 categories outlined in the E-Waste Management Rules, 2022.

As per reports, India’s first e-waste eco park in Delhi will be built with an estimated investment of ₹150 crore. Once operational, the park is expected to generate over ₹350 crore in revenue. Overall, it will foster a thriving ecosystem for recycling, recovery, and responsible waste management.

The authorities have estimated that the construction of the e-waste eco park in Delhi will wrap up within 18 months. Once operational, it will be able to manage nearly 25% of Delhi’s e-waste! If all things go as planned, then experts believe that this project will serve as a model for similar initiatives across the country.
