Comedian Kaustubh Agarwal joined us on a food exploration journey in Delhi’s Tilak Nagar. Our Punjabi breakfast trail with the comedian on this episode of Tere Gully Mein involved heading to some of the city’s most iconic spots. Apart from talking about his breakup phase, struggles and even rejections, the very real conversation had to take a more lighthearted tone. Poking fun at himself for being a “baniya”, Kaustubh Agarwal revealed a trait that he and all other bainyas certainly have.
Kaustubh Agarwal Reveals His Baniya Trait
Kaustubh Agarwal first took us to Ambarsariya for delicious Amritsari Aloo and Aloo Pyaaz Kulches. As we waited for our order, we had to ask Kaustubh about his most Baniya trait. “Fati rehti hai hamesha meri (I’m always worried),” he said instantly. In his most relatable and animated style, he revealed that he is always worried about what will happen in the future. He remembered telling his family about quitting his job to pursue stand-up comedy full-time.
Kaustubh told his parents that he was facing anxiety due to his decision. To this family, told him that he should be anxious after all he left his job. The “baniya” relates the habit of overthinking about the future, and feeling anxious to baniyas. Well, if you’re a baniya, then you need to tell us if you agree with him! Following this unexpected confession, the comedian enjoyed kulhad wali chai with us. As he took the first sip of chai, he joked about not keeping track of the days as he had quit his job. Just two weeks ago, Kaustubh said goodbye to his 9-5 job to embrace his passion, stand-up comedy.
Comedian Talks About His Former IT Sales Job
As he drank chai, the baniya creator credited his ex-boss, Mukul, for being very supportive and helping him follow his dreams. He was employed in a sales job for two years and he was able to perform his duties well. Kaustubh sold IT products, which he called a “boring job” but seemed smooth as he was an engineer.
