Gurgaon Township Stops Swiggy & Zomato Deliveries For Its Residents; Here’s Why

Gurgaon Township Restricts Swiggy & Zomato Deliveries

According to a report by The Indian Express, the warning came after an unusually public crackdown at Uppal Southend in Gurgaon, where a large yellow board with bold lettering was placed outside the main gate of the residential complex. The board lists the names of residents who have not paid their maintenance dues, along with the penalties for non-payment.

The notice stated that all non-essential services, including maid services, car washing and delivery services, such as Zomato and Swiggy, will be suspended until the dues are fully cleared. It further added, “All residents whose payments are due and whose names are displayed on the notice board are requested to clear their outstanding dues at the earliest.” The notice also suspended defaulters and PG residents from RWA social events.

What Do Residents Have To Say About This?

As per the news portal, some residents have not paid their maintenance dues since 2012 and 2009 and have outstanding amounts crossing ₹1 lakh. The residents discussed the notice with the Indian Express and pointed out their views. A resident told the portal that many people haven’t paid the due, but they hope they’ll pay after the notice.

The Residents’ Welfare Association also revealed how this tactic has worked before. An RWA president, Col Surrender Kumar Yadav, informed the portal how they had put up a similar board in 2023 and managed to collect dues in lakhs. He also shared that currently, the delivery and maid services are on.
