The world’s largest B2C Book Fair began today, January 10, and will run till January 18. Taking place at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, this nine-day event is your chance to tick off books from your TBR. With over 3,000 stalls at the venue, you can browse, buy, and collect books across so many genres and languages. The official Instagram page of the National Book Trust, India, also posted an update regarding the book fair.
The New Delhi World Book Fair has been held for the past 53 years and is considered one of the most important literary events for authors, readers, and publishers. Organised by the National Book Trust (NBT), India, the fair attracts massive crowds every year. If you haven’t visited before, this is your chance!

What To Expect At The Book Fair
Some of the major highlights include a Theme Pavilion, which showcases the theme of the fair through creatives, graphics, installations, artefacts, and cultural activities. There will also be an Author’s Corner, featuring panel discussions, book launches, and interactions with authors. If you enjoy literary activities, this is one section you should not miss.
Apart from this, the fair will host international exhibitors, workshops, and interactive programmes. Children can spend time at the Children’s Pavilion, which will have storytelling sessions, contests, and workshops. This nine-day event is expected to attract over two million visitors.
How To Reach:
If you are planning a visit, here’s how you can reach the venue easily.
- By Metro: This is the easiest option. The nearest metro station is Supreme Court Metro Station on the Blue Line. From there, it’s a short walk to Bharat Mandapam.
- By Bus: Several DTC buses operate in the area that stop close to the venue.
It is advised not to take your own vehicle, as parking at Bharat Mandapam is limited and will fill up quickly during peak hours.
