According to Moneycontrol, an Air India flight from Vienna, Austria, to New Delhi was diverted to Dubai on October 9. The airline shared that, due to a suspected technical issue, the aircraft landed safely in Dubai and departed after undergoing necessary checks.

Reportedly, the autopilot system of the aircraft unexpectedly disconnected mid-air. This triggered malfunctions across several key systems and also resulted in the loss of the aircraft’s auto-land capability. The flight crew was unable to re-engage the autopilot and manually flew the plane for the remainder of the journey. The pilots informed Air Traffic Control (ATC) and decided to divert the flight to Dubai. The plane landed there safely, and all passengers were safely disembarked.

“AI154 operating from Vienna to New Delhi on October 9 was diverted to Dubai due to a suspected technical issue. The aircraft landed safely at Dubai and underwent necessary checks. All passengers were kept informed of the delay, provided refreshments, and the flight departed at 08:45 hrs IST. We regret the inconvenience caused due to the unforeseen delay. At Air India, the safety of passengers and crew remains top priority,” an Air India spokesperson shared.
