Journalist Vir Sanghvi recently took to his X handle to praise Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. One of India’s busiest airports, it handled over 77.8 million in 2024 and acts as a major hub for T1, T2 and T3 terminals. Flights at Delhi Airport are slowly recovering from delays and cancellations amid the West Asia crisis. During this moment, journalist Vir Sanghvi lauded the airport for its smooth operations and passenger-friendly services.

Vir Sanghvi Praises Delhi Airport

On his X handle, journalist Vir Sanghvi revealed that he visited Delhi after many days on the road. Back at Delhi Airport, Sanghvi shared that he was very impressed with the space. Calling it “world-class”, he lauded the airport for “coping magnificently” amid the West Asia crisis. Amid the cancelled flights, returned baggage, passenger distress and anxiety and disruption to operations, the airport is managing its functions efficiently.

Expressing his pride, in his opinion, Indian airports are better run and more thoughtful to passengers than American and European airports. “Always a pleasure to land in Delhi,” Sanghvi ends his post. Accompanying the post is a picture taken at a conveyor baggage belt of IGI Airport.

The post went viral on X, garnering over 100.4K views. Sanjay Menon commented that Mumbai Airport deserved more praise. Sanghvi  replied, “Bombay Airport is a shopping mall with a runway attached.”

X user Ashish Ranjan stated, “No doubt, Delhi Airport is the best in India. During my days in Mumbai, my local friends were full of praise for Delhi Airport and the Delhi Metro too.” Other X users agreed with his opinion.
