SpiceJet Leh-Delhi Flight Makes Emergency Landing

The SpiceJet flight bound for Leh had to make an emergency landing on Tuesday morning. According to The Times of India, the aircraft developed a technical snag mid-air. The Boeing 737 flight carried 150 passengers. Reportedly, it took off at 6:08 am and returned to Delhi airport at 6:49 am.

Delhi airport followed all necessary protocols and prepared for the emergency landing. Fortunately, all passengers disembarked safely. Reports said there was no fire warning in the cockpit after the engine failed. An emergency landing must have caused panic among passengers on board.

Passengers Safe, Investigation Underway

Alternative travel arrangements were expected for passengers on the flight. According to NDTV, the aircraft suffered a possible engine issue linked to its second engine. Authorities are investigating to determine the exact cause of the technical snag. They will now examine the aircraft’s engines, internal systems and other things closely to understand what led to the emergency landing.

The pilots’ quick decision to opt for an emergency landing ensured no passengers were harmed. While the delay may have caused minor inconvenience, everyone was safe. The incident has again raised concerns over airline operations and flight safety. According to NDTV, on November 8, 2025, a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Kolkata also made an emergency landing after one of its engines failed. All passengers and crew were reported safe.  With several incidents of making flights making emergency landings, many people have become anxious.
