If Daman has been on your travel bucket list but the long journey from Delhi has always held you back, we have some good news—getting there just became a lot easier! Delhi Airport has added Daman to its growing domestic network with the launch of a new direct flight service. The addition takes the airport’s total domestic destinations to 90, making travel to the Union Territory faster and more convenient.
Delhi-Daman Direct Flights Are Here!
According to Time Out, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) has expanded its domestic network with the launch of direct flights to Daman, one of the closest beach destinations for Delhiites. Known for its Portuguese forts, scenic coastline and laid-back charm, the coastal town will be connected to Delhi with Alliance Air flights.
Until now, reaching Daman typically involved a 15-hour train journey from Hazrat Nizamuddin or a flight to Surat followed by a long road or rail transfer. According to MakeMyTrip, direct Delhi-Daman flights currently operate twice a week– Mondays and Wednesdays–and take around three hours. Fares start at around ₹7,000. While they’re costlier than train tickets, the non-stop flight saves over 10 hours of travel and takes you directly to Daman without the need for additional road or rail transfers.
