Ashram Flyover

The Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated the Ashram Flyover — an extension from Delhi Noida Direct Flyway to Ashram Chowk. This was a very important project for the locals and to relieve traffic congestion. This six-lane flyover was on hold for a long time due to COVID-19 and air pollution in the city. At noon on Monday, the Chief Minister of Delhi gave an inaugural speech. Here is what he said and everything you need to know about this new flyover extension.

CM Arvind Kejriwal’s Inaugural Speech

The Chief Minister gave a speech on the inauguration of the Ashram Flyover extension. He started his speech by saying that it was a joyous occasion for the people of Delhi. The opening of this new extension flyover will help relieve the traffic congestion that people face, especially during office hours. The flyover covers three traffic signals — that means, now people can commute from Noida to AIIMS without stopping at any signals. He congratulated everyone and expressed his regrets towards the unpleasant travel situations that they had to face. But now that the flyover is open to the public, he assures that it will be useful.

The Chief Minister further stated that they are taking efforts to improve transport and infrastructure within the city. There are more than a hundred flyovers and underpasses in the city. And the state government is planning to construct and update fifteen such projects. Some examples are flyover reconstruction at Sarai Kale Khan, flyover construction at Anand Vihar, etc. Besides this, some of the existing flyovers will get extensions.

Moreover, there will be an elevated flyover from the Wazirabad Signature bridge to the DND Flyway and an extension of the Nehru Place Flyover to the Modi Mill Flyover.
