I am sure the term ‘busiest airport’ can be a bit taxing as it immediately brings in images of chaos, long queues, and a not-so-happy travel experience. Nobody wants it! But if you look at the other side of the coin, this can be exciting on some grounds as well. Well, the list of the world’s busiest airports is here, and without any surprise, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport is on the list.
Delhi’s IGI Airport Is The Busiest
Airports Council International has released the list of the top 10 busiest airports in the world. The list showed that more than half of the names on the list were airports in the United States.
India’s only airport made it to the top 10 of the list, and the name was not at all surprising. Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport is the only Indian airport on the list, and it stands at the 9th rank.
We have all come across many news pieces where we have seen chaos taking place at this airport. There were also some pieces that spoke about how the chaos was well-managed.

Being the world’s busiest airport is surely the best feeling, but only if you have ample space and the space and crowd are well managed.
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport claimed the top rank. According to the statistics, the airport welcomed 93,699,630 passengers in 2022, which is a 23.8% increase over 2021.
The second airport, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, saw a footfall of 73.4 million passengers. It is the largest hub for American airlines.
