Ever since Dubai chocolate, AKA pistachio-filled chocolatey goodness, went viral, people have been trying to get their hands on them in one way or the other. Some are even replicating the recipe at home if they cannot buy this insanely famous bar. In fact, many replicas have also come out from different brands catering to the widespread demand for the chocolate. Well, this has made pistachio sauce also quite popular. So, naturally, the prices for pistachios have seen a slight increase in recent weeks. Here’s all you need to know about the price trend for pistachios in Dubai.

Following the insane popularity enjoyed by the viral chocolate from, the prices for pistachios have seen a slight rise in the emirate. Yes, as revealed by Khaleej Times in its report, some traders in the Old Souq area of Deira relayed the reason why pistachios have become a little more expensive. With the prices increasing by AED10 per kg in two months, traders have reasoned that this increase is due to the demand for the regular price hike is especially being seen for Iranian pistachios. People are buying them in greater numbers than usual, which is resulting in a price hike.

However, some traders revealed that tourists came looking for the Dubai chocolate to the souq, and it was then that they realised the reason behind this rise in price. At this point, it’s worth mentioning that pistachio prices have been fairly steady in the UAE. A reason for this is the fact that it has a long shelf life. However, with the recent increase in demand, the price has also seen a rise, which has surprised many sellers. There is rarely any fluctuation in price when it comes to pistachios, but a rise in demand for the same has also raised its price.

With the scaling production of these viral chocolates, suppliers and manufacturers are often buying directly from Iran. As a result, there is even a shortage at the supplier level as revealed in the same report!
