Did You Hear About The World’s First AI Doctor Clinic In Saudi Arabia?

Visiting a doctor’s clinic can be nerve-racking, as you are worried about getting the dreaded checkup done. However, some doctors have the charm to put you instantly at ease with their calmness. But what if I told you there is an AI doctor in Saudi Arabia? Well, revolutionising the way patients receive medical care, Saudi Arabia has launched what is said to be the world’s first AI-powered clinic, and we are here to tell you all about it.

Synyi AI Launches World’s First AI Doctor Clinic

As revealed by Leaders MENA magazine, this AI doctor clinic has been launched by a Chinese start-up, Synyi AI, which is a Shanghai-based medical technology company, and it has partnered with Almoosa Health Group. They partnered to introduce this innovative trial programme in Al Ahsa of Saudi Arabia. In case you’re wondering, they aim to replace human doctors as a first point of contact when it comes to diagnosing and treating patients.

Basically, when the patients walk into the clinic, they will get to interact with an AI doctor, Dr Hua. This will be done through a tablet, where they will get to describe their symptoms in detail. Following this, the AI will ask specific questions and even analyse medical data, like X-rays and cardiograms. All of this will be done with the assistance of human staff. Once the consultation is over with Dr Hua, he will provide a treatment plan, which will then be reviewed by a human doctor, and he will be the one to approve. However, it’s worth mentioning that human doctors will continue to remain for emergencies that AI cannot handle.

At this point, it is worth answering the burning question about accuracy. Well, the AI system has so far demonstrated an error rate of less than 0.3%. This showcases its potential for accurate results. In fact, the patients have been able to use the service free of charge, and the process is being supervised by human doctors. The aim is to expand the capabilities to cover 50 diseases, which also includes respiratory, dermatological, and even gastroenterological conditions, by next year.

So, what do you think about this development? Would you also want to get your checkup done through an AI doctor?
