With nearly half of the year almost over, we are all probably already thinking about all the holidays that we can expect in the next year. After all, these much-awaited paid holidays make for the perfect time to take a vacation with our loved ones. And if the astronomical calculations are to go by, chances are that residents in the United Arab Emirates might get a nine-day holiday in 2024.
A 9-day Holiday In The First Half Of 2024 In The UAE?
According to a report by Khaleej Times, it was mentioned that based on astronomical calculations, one can expect that the holy month of Ramadan might begin on Monday, March 11, 2024. As it happens, it might span over 30 days with the festival of Eid al-Fitr falling on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. So, it is pertinent to point out that the UAE Government announces Eid al-Fitr holidays for public and private sector employees from Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3. This means that people in the country can expect the break to begin on April 8, Monday and this will go on till April 12, Friday. And if you include the two weekends, you will be eligible for a nine-day break!
What More Holidays Can We Expect This Year?
However, it is worth mentioning that these projected dates can only be confirmed upon moon sighting at the time. Now coming back to the current year, there are at least two more long weekends expected! A three-day long weekend during the Hijri New Year or the Islamic New Year, which falls from July 21, Friday to July 23, Sunday. And the next long break can be from September 29, Friday to October 1, Sunday! With these project dates at our disposal, planning holidays with our loved ones becomes a tad bit easier! And of course, it also offers us motivation to continue working hard as these holidays don’t seem too far away.
Doesn’t it sound exciting that we might just get a nine-day holiday in 2024? Well, it certainly takes away those midweek blues!
