For one of our recent Tere Gully Mein episodes, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, was in conversation with the famous YouTuber, Internet personality and podcast host, Ranveer Allahbadia. We explored the lanes of DaWaMa (Dadar-Wadala-Matunga) with the former resident of Wadala and indulged in lip-smacking food throughout. While we were at Café Mysore, we just couldn’t resist the urge to try the new dosa dedicated to Anant Ambani!

Ranveer And Kamiya Ate At His Favourite Spot, Café Mysore

After relishing the softest gulab jamuns, crispy samosas and loaded chaats at Brij Albela in Wadala, it was time to explore some delectable South Indian food. We ended up at the iconic Café Mysore! Soon a big feast of idli, vada, rasam, and dosas was on our table. It was time to indulge!

Kamiya wanted to learn the reason behind his inclination towards this legendary eatery. He explained, “I am one of those exceptions where I love both places (Cafe Madras and Café Mysore). Every time I am in Wadala, I alter between the two. Both places have emotional memories. Café Mysore is where me and my mom used to come a lot.”

Ranveer recalled how some highs and lows of his academic life were celebrated here. With time, this eatery turned into a “peaceful and emotional” place for him. He only visits Café Mysore with his mom and she doesn’t urge him to post every aspect of his life on social media.

Hence, his ardent followers never see him boast about this eatery on his socials. This is the reason why you often see Cafe Madras on Ranveer’s Instagram stories despite having an emotional connection to Café Mysore!

Ranveer Allahbadia mentioned that Café Mysore was Mukesh Ambani and his son’s favourite food spot! So much so, that they served at Anant Ambani’s wedding. They ordered a new variation dedicated to Anant. Both were having it for the first time ever and were curious about its taste.

A quick bite of this new dosa dipped in coconut chutney was an explosion of flavours. Ranveer Allahbadia commented on this dish, “Jio dhan dhana dhan,” and laughed out loud!
