If you frequently order online, chances are that you’ve dealt with late food deliveries. Most of the time, the wait time isn’t much of a bother unless you’re extremely hungry. However, recently, a digital creator shared a new “scam” by Swiggy. Swati Mukund, who is an Internet personality, shared her recent subpar experience with Swiggy and how she felt she was scammed. Unfortunately, not many people were sympathetic to her rant.

Digital Creator Rants About “Swiggy Scam”

Swati Mukund, an Internet personality, recently shared her experience with the popular food delivery platform, Swiggy. She starts by saying that Swiggy has introduced a brand new scam in the market. Mukund says that she placed an order at 8:20 PM from the app, the money for which her account was debited at 8:21 PM.

The app showed her that the delivery would arrive in 30 minutes. However, the clock struck 9 and the food still did not arrive. She then called customer service and asked them to cancel the order since the app said that the food was supposed to arrive in 30 minutes and it was already more than 45 minutes.

The customer service rep told her that though she had placed the order at 8:20 PM, in the app, the order wasn’t placed until 8:40. Hence, it would arrive by 9:10 PM which would be in 30 minutes. Mukund says that she tried reasoning with the customer service rep but they wouldn’t budge.

Unfortunately, not many commenters were sympathetic to her situation. While a few comments did say that they had experienced a similar issue with Swiggy, others were quite dismissive. One commenter even called it a first-world problem. Many others stated that she could have simply waited for a few minutes more.

Mukund clarified in the comments that it was actually a birthday cake for which she was waiting so the delay doesn’t make sense because these items are already prepared.
