That’s exactly what Linsey Boyd felt when a diner left a massive $10,000 on a bill of just $32 at a restaurant in Michigan. It was a sweet gesture on the diner’s part. The server split the tip with the other workers, who were equally happy. What Linsey did not see coming was being let go from her job a few days later. A customer, named Mark, recently left a whopping tip of $10,000 while dining at Mason Jar Cafe, a restaurant in Michigan. His actual bill was only $32.43! This comes as a big surprise because restaurantgoers usually tip the staff about 15% to 25% of the actual bill. The server even asked if there was an error. To this, Mark simply asked them to process the bill with the mentioned tip.

When asked the reason for this generous tip, he said that he was in town for the funeral of a friend. So, in his memory, he wanted to tip the staff as a gesture of kindness. The Michigan restaurant posted about the tip and this sweet incident on their social media. They also mentioned that the server, Linsey Boyd, even split the bill with the other workers at the restaurant. As per the post, “this was a life-changing act,” for the employees at the restaurant.

Here comes the big plot twist in this story – the restaurant fired the server a few days later! While the internet was falling in love with this heartfelt story, it was revealed that Linsey was fired a few days after this incident. The comments on the Instagram post were earlier filled with sweet messages. Now, however, they are flooded with one question – why fire her? The restaurant did another post about the firing. However, it did not contain any explanation or reason for her firing.

According to the restaurant, they “can not comment on the nature of her losing her job due to labor laws and to protect the staff involved.”

That is one messed-up situation! We hope there were genuine reasons for the firing, seeing all the flak the restaurant is getting after the whole ordeal.
