Well, now it’s possible as the Diriyah Art Futures, which is the first new media arts hub in the MENA region has opened its doors in Riyadh. A place where digital artists can explore and develop future possibilities together, it’s going to be a great destination for them to produce new work and even implement their research that can be developed in-house.

Boasting a contemporary structure, the Diriyah Art Futures, a new media arts hub has finally opened its doors in Riyadh. The building features a contemporary design and it will host several workshops, events, and exhibitions for enthusiasts of the new media field. Not to mention, visitors can also drop by their store and cafe. The new media design bookstore will feature a selection of literary offerings that is going to benefit the local community. Not to mention, there will also be a store with a curated selection of gifts and retail items that visitors can pick up for their families. Soon a cafe will also be opening at the museum, which will be located close to the UNESCO World Heritage site of At-Turaif.

There’s An Ongoing Exhibition Till February 15, 2025

As it happens, the building is already hosting an exhibition called ‘Art Must Be Artificial: Perspectives of AI in the Visual Arts’. An exhibition that has been curated by Jérôme Neutres, he brings together over 30 global and regional artists to explore new forms of creative expression. The exhibition presents the history of computer art, right from the 1960s to the present day. You can expect Saudi talents at the exhibition to display their work, like Nasser Alshemimry (DesertFish), Muhannad Shono, and Daniah Al Saleh.
It’s worth mentioning that this exhibition also features work that explores intersections of media culture and technology. So, visitors will also get to see the incredible and revolutionary use of AI, data, and digital landscapes as they visit the ongoing exhibition. In case you’re wondering, it is running until Saturday, February 15, 2025.
