Disneyland Paris made history on July 14, 2024, when it amazed onlookers with a stunning display that went down as one of the Guinness World Records. Using a staggering 1,571 drones to create a massive, tricoloured Mickey Mouse head above the iconic Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant, the theme park achieved the “Largest aerial image of a fictional character formed by drones/multirotors.” In honour of Bastille Day, this magnificent show brought together the pride of French national heritage and the magic of Disney.

Disneyland Paris Celebrates Bastille Day With Record-Breaking Drone Show

This record-breaking event was the result of months of careful planning and teamwork. Together with Dronisos, the top European supplier of drone technology, the show teams at Disneyland Paris realised this vision. The end product was a visually stunning 12-minute journey that expertly combined light displays, drone choreography, and pyrotechnics.

Paris’s Notre-Dame Cathedral’s rose window and the Eiffel Tower were among the famous French cultural icons honoured by the show.

Ben Spalding, Disneyland Paris’s show producer, and Matthieu Robin, the creative show manager, oversaw the inventiveness of this accomplishment. Their vision and commitment to excellence paid off in a captivating show that broke world records. It also demonstrated Disneyland Paris’s dedication to creating experiences that guests will never forget.

1,571 Drones Created Tricolour Mickey Mouse

But the record-breaking Bastille Day show was just the beginning of the magic. The Disney Electrical Sky Parade is a nighttime parade that made its debut in January 2024. It is still a source of delight for visitors to Disneyland Paris. This parade, which combines lights, lasers, video projections, and fountains to create an amazing aerial show, swooshes over Sleeping Beauty’s Castle with over 500 drones.

Drones create bright floats that include Mickey Mouse and friends’ train, Elliott the dragon from “Pete’s Dragon,” and Cinderella’s enchanted carriage, all paying homage to the iconic Main Street Electrical Parade. The specially re-orchestrated electro-synth-magnetic music that complements the technical wizardry makes this nighttime celebration even more magical.

As Disneyland Paris continues to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation, its commitment to delivering extraordinary experiences remains unwavering. The record-setting drone show on Bastille Day is a testament to this dedication. It also promises visitors countless magical moments for years to come.
