It is one of the much-anticipated times of the year when people staying in different cities wait to head back home and celebrate the joy of the festival. Passenger footfall jumps significantly at this time every year. South Western Railway decided to operate special trains to manage the sudden surge and provide options to passengers. South Western Railway Announced Special Trains For Diwali
Booking train tickets during these peak dates is quite a task. Wait no more and book your trip to head back home already. Here’s about South Western Railway’s special train between Bengaluru’s Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) and Kalaburagi.
- On October 30 and November 2, 2024, the journey on the Bengaluru-Kalaburagi Express Special will commence with the train departing SMVT Bengaluru railway station at 9:15 PM.
- Passengers will reach Kalaburagi Junction railway station the next morning at 7:40 AM.
- The express train will reach its destination by crossing different stations such as Yelahanka, Dharmavaram, Anantapur, Guntakal, Adoni, Manthralayam Road, Raichur, Krishna, Yadgir and Shahabad, according to a report by Telangana Today.

Here’s About The Return Journey
- The express train will also carry passengers for the return journey from Kalaburagi Junction railway station to SMVT Bengaluru railway station.
- On this route, the Kalaburagi-SMVT Bengaluru Express Special will depart Kalaburagi Junction railway station at 9:35 AM. The departure dates are October 31 and November 3, 2024.
- Travellers will reach the last station of the journey, SMVT Bengaluru railway station, at 8 PM on the travel dates.
- The return journey route and halts are the same as that of the Bengaluru-Kalaburagi Express Special.
The express carrying passengers between Kalaburagi Junction railway station and SMVT Bengaluru railway station is equipped with 19 coaches. The overall number of coaches comprises 12 General Second Class coaches, 3 Sleeper Class coaches, and 2 AC Three-tier coaches. In addition, there is a second-class luggage and a luggage/brake van cum generator car.
