The Delhi Metro is a lifeline for the people of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). With several ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 matches scheduled to be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium here, the Delhi Metro is doing extra trips by extending its last train timings by about 30 minutes on all to allow spectators to reach their destinations smoothly.
Delhi Metro To Extend Services For Long
The Delhi Metro has made minor changes to its last train timings on all lines (except the Airport Express Line) to facilitate movement during the Cricket World Cup 2023 matches (day and night) scheduled to be held on the 7th, 11th, 15th, 25th and 6th November 2023 at Arun Jaitley Stadium (Ferozeshah Kotla Grounds) in New Delhi. The stadium is next to the Delhi Gate Metro station on the Violet Line, which runs from Kashmere Gate to Raja Nahar Singh.
The Delhi Metro will perform extra train trips (about 24) by extending its last train schedules by roughly 30 minutes on all lines in preparation for a sudden rush predicted at close metro stations after the match ends. This will allow spectators to easily reach their locations by taking the the metro.
The DMRC will also deploy extra personnel and Customer Facilitation Agents (CFA) at the Delhi Gate Metro station to accommodate the increased crowds on match day. The final train times may be subject to further changes dependent on match requirements, so commuters should plan their travels appropriately.
