It is not every day that our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, boards a ferry with one of the greatest chefs in India, Ranveer Brar, and heads to Alibaug for a fantastic episode of Tere Gully Mein. We wanted to do something hatke for this episode so we smoothly sailed to Alibaug from Mumbai. Now, what’s the catch? The chef prepared a delectable dish and had interesting conversations with us.
Is Cooking Boring For Chef Ranveer Brar?
The M2M ferry docked at Mandwa, they boarded the car for a serene drive to Alibaug. They started conversing about food and Ranveer’s culinary journey. Before getting to the interesting part, Kamiya wanted to know if our guest was bored of cooking.
Ranveer replied, “I think it is a state of mind, different ways to express yourself in food.” He added that with time, the relationship between an individual and food grows. He meant that there is no monotonous work when it comes to cooking; it is a creative assignment. There is an abundance of cuisines and dishes that intrigue a chef to take on new challenges, learn and grow. This makes it anything but boring!
What’s On The Menu Chef?
For this Tere Gully Mein episode, Ranveer planned to whip up a lip-smacking dish for us and we couldn’t wait any longer. Kamiya was curious about the menu and asked him what it was.
It was only right to cook a delicious meal consisting of seafood as they were in a beautiful coastal town near Mumbai. Ranveer didn’t want to miss this opportunity and cooked delicious pomfret and prawn curry for all of us! He went into detail and shared hacks for cooking these dishes and we quickly jotted them down. To finish the meal, he made a fantastic gulab jamun flambe! Each dish was lip-smacking good.
Did you know Ranveer came back to Alibaug after seven years? Check out the video linked above to learn more about it.
