Don’t Use Your Phone Or Forget Your Seatbelts While Driving In Ajman As A Smart System Will Catch You; Fine Up To AED400

While it’s not advisable and even restricted in a lot of places, many people have a habit of using their mobile phones while driving. It’s always advisable not to do this, as it is unsafe not just for the driver but even for other motorists on the road. And now, if you are found guilty of violating this rule in Ajman, you will be liable to pay a fine of up to AED400. And this detection will be done through a smart monitoring system starting October 1.

Ajman Police To Introduce Smart Monitoring System

According to a notification released by Ajman Police, from October 1 onwards, a Smart Monitoring System will detect violations relating to mobile phones and seatbelts. Yes, as revealed by the Ajman Police General Headquarters on Wednesday, September 25, the activation of the system is being done for the safety of people, as they adhere to traffic rules and regulations.

Not to mention, the aim is to reduce road traffic accidents, thereby making people safe. According to federal law, using mobile phones or any other devices while driving can lead to a fine of up to AED400 and four black points.

It should be noted that the aforementioned law also requires people to wear their seat belts including those who are sitting in the rear seat. If a driver of a vehicle fails to follow this important rule, there will be a fine of AED400 and four black points.

Dubai Also Has Similar Smart Systems

Not only in Ajman but Dubai also has smart systems installed by the Dubai Police that monitor vehicle turning from non-designated areas. Making such an unauthorised turn thereby violating traffic regulations is subject to a fine of AED500 and four black points. In fact, just the previous year, the Dubai Police also released a video showcasing how a motorist was committing this infraction. Not to mention, such unlawful acts have also resulted in six individuals being injured, thereby reinstating the fact that it is dangerous not just for the driver committing this infraction but for those around as well.

So, if you are also someone who is driving on the road or happen to be a resident of Ajman, make sure that you follow the rules. After all, you might have to pay a fine if you are caught while the rule
