Due to the ongoing airspace closure in the Middle East, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai and Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi (IGI Airport) have issued passenger advisories, announcing that several international flights might be impacted. Not only that, several flights from Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru were also cancelled and diverted.

@csmia_official, the official Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) handle of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, has issued a passenger advisory. The statement says that many international flights are likely to be impacted due to the closure of the Middle East airspace. Passengers have been urged to confirm and re-check their flight status with the airline before heading to the airport.
This development comes amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran, which have led the UAE to temporarily close its airspace. As a result, several airlines have either halted or delayed international operations due to the ongoing situation. According to a report by The Times of India, the UAE restricted its airspace late Monday night after missiles were fired from Iran towards US bases in Qatar and Iraq. The incident has disrupted many commercial flight operations across the region.

Along with Mumbai, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport has also issued a passenger advisory on their official Twitter handle @DelhiAirport. The airport authorities stated that their ground teams are working closely with all stakeholders to ensure a smooth journey for passengers. However, they too have urged travellers to check their flight status before arriving at the airport.
As reported by TOI, hundreds of flights to and from key Middle East hubs like Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi were impacted. Flights from various countries, including those departing from Indian cities, were diverted, delayed or returned mid-route. On Monday night alone, dozens of flights to and from India were disrupted. As per the report, the airspace closure was necessary to ensure the safety of citizens, residents and visitors.
Multiple airlines were forced to temporarily suspend operations to and from Middle Eastern cities. Apart from that, several flights have also been cancelled from the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on Tuesday, as per The Hindu. These flights included 6 arrivals and 9 departures. 5 flights bound for Qatar were also diverted back to the Bengaluru Airport. However, as per the source, these flights departed after the airspace opened at 3 am.
