When you make plans to travel to a new country, chances are that you are probably dreading all the back-and-forth that you will have to do when you have to take the flight home. After all, heading back to the city where you arrived to take a flight back home can be pretty tiring after exploring the list of places on your itinerary. However, this is bound to change as Emirates and Etihad, the two major UAE-based carriers have come to an understanding that will now allow customers to purchase a single ticket to fly to Abu Dhabi or Dubai, and with a seamless return from the other airport. Confused? Well, here’s all you need to know about this major airline development.

One Ticket To Fly With Etihad & Emirates?

As summer approaches, so will the thirst for travellers to explore new countries. To quench the thirst and to make it more seamless for people, Etihad and Emirates, the UAE-based carriers have signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the Arabian Travel Market, which concluded on May 4. A first-of-its-kind, this opportunity aims to boost tourism in the UAE by allowing visitors to experience more than one destination. According to this agreement, travellers will be able to add more destinations to their itineraries. It was reported by Khaleej Times that once this comes into effect, people will be able to fly into Dubai or Abu Dhabi with a seamless return from the other airport, all with a single ticket.

What Does It Entail?

So, basically, no matter what airline website they choose, they can purchase a single ticket to fly into Abu Dhabi or Dubai and then fly out of the other. What this will do is it will let tourists explore more of the UAE without having to worry about returning to the same airport for taking a flight home. Not to mention, it will also save them time that would otherwise go in travelling to the airport that they arrived at. For this, travellers will be able to book an itinerary wherein they can fly into Abu Dhabi on Etihad, enjoy their time and then return via Emirates from Dubai.

Moreover, Passengers can book their journeys, either from Emirates or Etihad websites, online travel agencies, or even via tour operators. It’s worth mentioning that tourists will also be able to travel from one city to another on either of these carriers’ networks, thereby allowing multi-city flights. While no date has been specified so far, it is expected that this service may begin this summer. However, it’s important to note that all the existing bookings on each of these airlines will continue to function and be subject to current terms and conditions.

So, the next time you plan your travel to the UAE, chances are that you may get to book a single ticket for a more seamless travel experience.
