Haven’t we all seen sci-fi movies where driverless pods and futuristic railway systems are being used by the general public to travel from one place to another? Well, this might soon become a reality for Dubai! We say this because the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has signed to Memoranda of Understanding. Yes, the process of developing new and innovative transport systems is going to be a part of the Dubai International Project Management Forum (DIPMF).
Dubai RTA Signs MoUs For Developing Innovative Transport Systems
As mentioned previously, Dubai RTA has signed two Memoranda of Understanding. The first one is related to considering the possibility of developing the Floc Duo Rail system. This is basically a double-track system that will allow transportation units to move quickly and efficiently. While the second MoU is regarding the consideration of the possibility of developing a rail bus system. This basically is going to be a mode of transport that can travel on a bridge equipped with solar panels to generate the electricity needed for operating the system.

At this point, it’s worth mentioning that the two MoUs, which have been signed with the companies, specialise in developing and manufacturing and transport systems. Not to mention, they also designed mass transportation solutions for zero emissions! These are – Urban-Mass Company, which is based in the UK and RAIL BUS Inc., based in the US.

With the signing of the two MoUs, it’s clear that the Dubai RTA is exploring a range of innovative fields of transportation systems. This also includes the world’s first innovative transport system, which is called the Floc Duo Rail system. And, the system also uses short units during low-peak periods and long units during high-peak periods.
At this point, it is worth mentioning that this partnership signifies a step towards a greener future! So, if the development comes to fruition, you can expect that Dubai is certainly going to have a futuristic mode of travelling between several landmarks.
