Self-Driving Taxis In Dubai Soon

The major development that caught the eye of people has been the driverless taxis. The Testing Is Going To Begin In October

It’s worth mentioning that you will not be able to travel in these vehicles until December. And, the reason for this has been attributed to the fact that the final safety test still needs to be done. At this point, it’s worth noting that testing for driverless Abras is also underway. Not to mention, these Cruise taxis have already been mapping the city, taking in the traffic system, roads, and people, which is quite different from that in the USA.

Talking about the testing route, you can expect to see these vehicles on an 8 km stretch that falls between the Dubai Water Canal and Etihad Museum according to the report by Khaleej Times. In case you’re wondering what would the cost be for the taxis, the report also mentioned that it’s probably going to be around 30% higher than the regular ones.

So, even though you might not get to ride these driverless taxes, until the end of the year, you might just spot them, cruising on the roads of the Emirate from next month.
