A late-night ordeal unfolded in Indapur taluka, Pune, on Friday when a truck driver, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, went on a destructive spree after being refused food at Hotel Gokul. The incident, captured on video and widely circulated on social media, has sparked outrage and concern.
Drunk Truck Driver Wreaks Havoc In Pune
The driver, identified as a traveller from Solapur, arrived at Hotel Gokul on the Pune-Solapur Highway around late evening. According to the First Post reports, he approached the hotel in a state of heavy intoxication and requested food. However, as the establishment had closed for the day, the owner had to deny his request. This refusal apparently enraged the driver.
In a fit of rage, the driver returned to his truck and began ramming it into the hotel’s building. The video, recorded by a bystander, shows the truck crashing through the hotel’s facade repeatedly. The driver maneuvered the truck aggressively, causing severe damage to the structure. Additionally, several vehicles parked outside the hotel were caught in the rampage. These included a two-wheeler and two four-wheelers, all of which suffered considerable damage.

Locals quickly mobilised to control the situation. In the video, you can see several men throwing stones at the truck in an attempt to stop the driver’s reckless actions. Some onlookers can be heard shouting and pleading with the driver to stop. The driver’s erratic behaviour continued until the truck’s wheels became immobilised, bringing the destruction to a halt.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, police arrived on the scene and arrested the driver, according to ABP News. They are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the rampage, including the driver’s level of intoxication and any potential motives behind his extreme reaction. The authorities are also assessing the full extent of the damage to the hotel and the vehicles.
