Grab some popcorn, because the Korean Film Festival is back this year, and this time, it’s all about the music. The 9th edition of the Korean Film Festival in UAE promises more than just a movie marathon. It’s bringing cinema lovers a fusion of sound and storytelling that’s set to hit all the right notes. With screenings in both Abu Dhabi’s Manarat Al Saadiyat and Dubai’s Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, this year’s festival is shaping up to be a real treat for korean fans.

Lights, Camera, Soundtrack: The Korean Film Festival Returns To The UAE

We’ve all had that moment when a film’s soundtrack sticks in our head longer than the plot itself. That’s exactly what this year’s theme celebrates. The festival spotlights how music can transform a film, giving us goosebumps at the right second.

From Parasite’s haunting score to the nostalgic tunes of C’est Si Bon, the selection is top-notch. And, because the organisers clearly want us to have an unforgettable experience, they’ve added K-Movie OST live concerts to the mix. Picture this: famous film scores reimagined by the Choi Yeowan Group, a talented bunch blending traditional Korean vocals with modern sounds.

What’s On Screen And Stage?

Now, let’s get to the fun part — the lineup. Fans can catch Parasite in Abu Dhabi on Thursday at 7 pm or in Dubai on 27 June at 4.30 pm. C’est Si Bon plays in Abu Dhabi on Friday at 4 pm, and Secret: Untold Melody follows that evening at 7 pm. Fancy an animation? My Beautiful Girl, Mari, is set for Saturday in Abu Dhabi at 2 pm and in Dubai on 28 June at 5 pm.

The weekend gets even better with Jaurim, The Wonderland, including a director Q&A in Abu Dhabi on Saturday at 6 pm and in Dubai later that evening. Dog Days and A Tale of Two Sisters bring the suspense on Sunday, while The Host wraps things up in Dubai on 29 June.

And don’t miss the K-Movie OST concerts, Sunday in Abu Dhabi at 7.30 pm, and on June 27th in Dubai at the same time. Expect reworked tracks from hits like Parasite, My Sassy Girl, 200 Pounds Beauty, and The Host.
