Dubai: All About The New Salik Fees, Parking Prices Free Hours & More

Recently, Dubai announced new fees for parking and Salik in the city. This includes variable fees and free journeys at certain times of the day as well. According to the latest announcement by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, Variable Road Toll Pricing (Salik) and Variable Parking Tariff Policies will be introduced. Yes, revealed in a report by Arabian Business, it was mentioned that this will include an event-specific parking tariff, which is part of its strategy for enhancing the traffic flow in the city. Not to mention, the Variable Road Toll Pricing system or Salik is expected to be launched by January end, 2025. This will offer motorists toll-free passage between 1 AM and 6 AM.

On the other hand, during the weekdays the toll will be priced at AED6 during the peak hours of morning, which would be between 6 AM to 10 AM and during the peak hours in the evening, which would be between 4 PM and 8 PM. In fact, for the off-peak hours, which would be between 10 AM and 4 PM and from 8 PM to 1 AM, the toll will be AED4 and it will be the same for Sundays. However, this will exclude public holidays, major events, and special occasions. The toll will be valid throughout the day and will be free from 1 AM to 6 AM.

What About Variable Parking Tariff?

Coming to the Variable Parking Tariff Policy, this one is expected to be introduced by the end of March 2025. For premium parking spaces, the fees will be set at AED6 for every hour and the same for public paid parking spaces during the morning peak hours (between 8 AM to 10 AM) and evening peak hours (4 PM and 8 PM) would be AED4. As it happens, the tariff will also remain unchanged during the peak hours, which would be between 10 AM and 4 PM and 8 PM and 10 PM. As such, parking will be free at night, which would be from 10 PM to 8 AM and all day on Sundays.

In fact, the congestion pricing policy for event areas has a fee of AED25 per hour for public paid parking spaces, which would be near the event zone.

Finally, it’s worth mentioning that the policy will be rolled out initially around the Dubai World Trade Centre during the major events, which would start in February 2025.
