Just when you thought it was time to bid a teary farewell to Dubai’s most vibrant cultural extravaganza, Global Village pulls a rabbit out of the hat. Surprise, surprise! Season 29 isn’t over yet, it’s sticking around for one more week. So, if you’ve been putting off that one last trip for Karak, carnival rides, and retail therapy, this is your golden ticket. Let’s dive into why a one-week extension.

Global Village Extends Season 29! Here’s Why You Shouldn’t Miss Its Final Week

Initially, Global Village was supposed to shut its colourful gates on 11 May. But the public’s demand led to the new closing date of 18 May. That’s a full extra week of street food, shopping sprees, dance performances, and that signature magical chaos we all secretly crave.

The park will continue operating daily from 4 pm to 1 am, giving you ample time to wander through bustling avenues of over 90 cultures, haggle over handmade rugs, and Instagram every neon-lit corner.

Sweet Deals Before The Season Curtain Falls

Now here’s where it gets even better! Global Village is going all out to make your last visit worthwhile. For starters, kids under 12 can enter for free until the final day. Yup, zero dirhams. That’s a solid win for parents trying to juggle entertainment and budget in one go.

Also, they’ve rolled out an AED50 unlimited rides pass for select carnival attractions. Kids and adrenaline-junkie adults alike can now immerse themselves without breaking the bank. Just keep in mind it’s valid only on specific rides, so check ahead to avoid disappointment and toddler tantrums.

The extension isn’t exactly a new shocker for us. Global Village has a bit of a reputation for dragging its goodbyes. In 2023, it first extended Season 28 from 28 April to 5 May and then cheekily tacked on three more days till 8 May due to popular demand. Back in 2022, it prolonged Season 26 from 10 April to 7 May. Basically, this is starting to feel like that friend who keeps saying “Okay, last goodbye” at the door.

But hey, we’re not complaining.

What’s New Before It All Ends?

This final stretch isn’t just a filler week. Global Village has extended its programming with new entertainment acts, fresh cultural showcases, and some pretty slick infrastructure upgrades. Expect a better flow of foot traffic, more shaded seating areas, and additional spots for those last-minute retail indulgences.

Over the past few weeks, the park has rolled out a string of show-stopping performances to close Season 29 on a high. Think fire-breathers, acrobats, international dance troops, and surprise celebrity acts. If you time your visit right, you might catch something new that hasn’t been announced yet,  Global Village loves keeping a few surprises up its sparkly sleeve.

There’s also a rumour (okay, a very strong suggestion) that several pavilions are pushing end-of-season clearance sales. Go. Spend. Eat. Ride. Dance. Haggle.
