avli by Tashas, the much-loved Greek restaurant that made waves in Dubai’s DIFC, has officially opened in Bahrain. Created by Natasha Sideris under the Tashas Group, avli first found its spark in the UAE and is now setting the tone for elevated dining on the Manama seafront. This isn’t just a restaurant opening. It’s a homegrown concept going regional, and it’s doing it with flair.

From Dubai To Bahrain With Love: avli by Tashas Brings Greek Soul To Manama

avli was born in Dubai, one of the toughest and trendiest markets in the region. That alone makes its success story impressive. But now, the restaurant has taken that Dubai DNA and spun it into a whole new story for Bahrain. Instead of copy-pasting the original, the team reimagined avli to feel more intimate and soulful.

It’s got lounge-style seating and soft corners meant for long dinners, quiet catchups or spontaneous weekday get-togethers. Whether you’re in a group or flying solo, the vibe wraps around you. It’s warm, layered and rich with meaning.

Tashas Group didn’t stop at just putting together a pretty place. Founder Natasha Sideris and visual stylist Nicky Greig handpicked antiques to decorate the interiors. Every piece tells a story. No random props. No filler.

A Courtyard That Tells A Story

The visual experience of the new space isn’t just aesthetic, it’s art with purpose. Right at the entrance, you’ll spot murals by Alexandra Ross. She pulled inspiration from ancient Greek frescos and made them feel right at home in Manama. Inside, Elonah O’Neil Reid created a dreamy fabric installation that floats above the diners. It’s a nod to the name avli, which means courtyard in Greek. That breezy, lived-in feeling of laundry lines drying in the sun comes to life in the middle of the restaurant.

On the outside, Athens-based ceramic artist Keti Anastasaki added a bold three-dimensional piece that gives the building its own personality. Artist Marina Ehlers also worked her magic with intricate mosaic designs, adding texture and a handcrafted quality to the space.

Flavours That Feel Nostalgic

None of this would matter without food that matches the setting. Head Chef Vlassia Anagnostou leads the kitchen in Bahrain. She stayed true to the heart of Greek cooking but gave it a refined twist. The à la carte menu includes signature dishes from the Dubai flagship along with new creations that celebrate Mediterranean soul. You can taste the roots in every bite.

This launch is a clear message. Concepts built in Dubai can thrive beyond the city. And when they travel, they bring with them a taste of the UAE’s creative pulse. Bahrain just got a slice of that flavour and it’s only the beginning.
