“Your flight has been delayed by…” is probably one of the most worrisome announcements to hear in airports these days. Unfortunately, scheduled journeys getting postponed or cancelled looks like a new normal seeing the alarming spike in such incidents worldwide. This time, a Dubai-bound SpiceJet flight from Mumbai came across delays and took off after over 12 hours. Indeed, it was a horrible experience for all passengers waiting to board the aircraft to fly to their destination.
Dubai-Bound SpiceJet Flight Delayed On August 31
According to a report by The Indian Express, the flight departure timing was 11:30 PM on August 31. However, the departure was postponed and the flight took off on the next day at noon. The difference between the initially scheduled timing and the actual take-off time was over 12 hours. It was such a long and distressing delay!
More than 150 passengers booked tickets to travel to Dubai on that SpiceJet flight scheduled to take off on August 31. Unfortunately, flyers had to sit and wait endlessly to hear the announcement of their flight finally getting ready to depart from the Mumbai airport. They were eventually notified about the final timing of the departure after a really long time of stranding at the Mumbai airport and we can only imagine how horrible their experiences have been.
Frustrated passengers waited for the flight departure but were only notified about delays after delays for a long time. The worst part was how they could not get any necessary information about the incident from the ground staff present at the airport premises. The staff working here failed to update the flyers about the reason/ reasons causing a delay of more than 12 hours. Passengers called the staff uncooperative and added that they neither provided definite information nor even a blanket to rest.
Later, The Airline Shared Key Updates About The Delay
In conversation with The Indian Express, a SpiceJet spokesperson apologised to the passengers and revealed that the flight faced a delay because of a technical problem. The airline’s team was quick enough to solve the issue so that the aircraft could take off with all passengers. But there were no cabin crew members at that time. The operating crew team went beyond their specified Flight Duty Time Limitations. So, the airline had to arrange for other crew members. This process took a lot of time and delayed the journey from Mumbai to Dubai.
