Dubai is making consumer complaints as easy as sending a text. Forget the long-winded forms and endless calls—soon, you’ll be able to file complaints against retailers with just a few taps on WhatsApp. The Dubai Corporation for Consumer Protection and Fair Trade (DCCPFT), under the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), is rolling out this AI-powered initiative next month, bringing speed and convenience right to your phone.
Dubai Residents Can Soon File Consumer Complaints via WhatsApp!
How Will It Work?
No more chasing customer service! Consumers will need to upload key documents, such as invoices and contracts, answer a few simple questions about their purchase or dispute, and boom! A resolution letter will be sent with the official DET letterhead. AI will guide users through the process, ensuring that complaints are submitted efficiently. But here’s the catch—if you don’t provide the right documents, your complaint won’t be processed. So, keep those receipts handy!
Why WhatsApp To File Compliants In Dubai?
Dubai’s Consumer Protection Department already offers complaint services via its website and call centre (600545555). However, WhatsApp takes things up a notch by providing a faster, user-friendly alternative. The best part? The WhatsApp complaint number will be the same as the call centre, making it easy to remember.
A Step Towards Smarter Consumer Rights
This move aligns with Dubai’s goal of enhancing digital accessibility and streamlining government services. Officials regularly conduct inspections and issue advisories to boost awareness among residents and businesses. With this initiative, consumers will find it easier than ever to hold retailers accountable and get disputes resolved without unnecessary hassle.

What’s Next?
The new service is set to go live next month, making Dubai one of the most consumer-friendly cities in the world. In the meantime, if you need details, head to the DET’s official website, consumerrights.ae. So, next time a retailer tries to pull a fast one on you, just WhatsApp your way to justice! If the retailer refuses to accept the resolution, then get ready to face a hefty charge on your establishment. Because we know when it comes to penalties, the Dubai Government doesn’t take it lightly!
