Air India reported a major security breach after finding one ammunition cartridge in the pocket of a seat on a flight from Dubai to Delhi. The flight, reportedly, landed at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on October 27 and all the passengers disembarked safely. Here’s all you need to know about this incident.

An ammunition cartridge was discovered on Air India flight AI916 from Dubai to Delhi on October 27. The airline confirmed this news on Saturday. According to India Today, Air India promptly registered a complaint with the Airport Police, adhering to the laid down security protocols.

In a statement, Air India said, “One ammunition cartridge was found in the pocket of a seat of our flight AI916 after it had landed from Dubai at Delhi on 27 October 2024 and all passengers had safely disembarked.” The entire matter is now under investigation and more details are awaited on the issue. Amid all the recent hoax bomb threats, this has emerged as a major cause of concern for the authorities.

Major Security Breach Amid Hoax Bomb Threats

Recently, another Air India flight scheduled for Delhi received a hoax bomb threat. Reportedly, this was the second such threat received by Nepal’s Tribhuvan International Airport within a week. As per India Today, the flight landed in Nepal at 2:41 PM (Nepal Standard Time) on Monday. The airport authorities received a bomb threat that prompted them to activate the emergency protocol.

After almost 4 hours of extensive search by the Nepal Army bomb squad along with the Nepal Police Canine division, no suspicious objects were found and the threat was deemed a hoax.
