Delivery Riders Can Log Off For Iftar
During the month of Ramadan, Careem is allowing its delivery riders to pause work for Iftar if they are fasting. The delivery rider can break their fast at a mosque with a colleague or alone. In fact, several delivery riders are already grateful for this initiative, as it allows them to break the fast with their families during the holy month.
This is a noble initiative, as it is no secret that orders increase around that time. So, companies have launched initiatives to ensure that their riders can also get time to break their fast. There are other delivery companies in the UAE that are doing something similar. Deliveroo, which is another online food delivery company, is focusing on supporting its riders. Yes, offering support during the holy month by allowing their riders to break the fast at their own convenience and log out for Iftar.

Free Iftar Meal Boxes For Delivery Riders
As revealed in a report by Khaleej Times, the company has also encouraged riders to visit the Roo Van and Edition sites. There, they can pick up complementary Iftar meals and special Ramadan gift boxes. Restaurant partners aim to contribute thousands of free and discounted meals to their riders for this initiative.
Not just large companies, but even restaurants are stepping up to help out delivery riders. There are some who are offering Iftar food boxes, while others are providing complementary Iftar food packs. Anticipating a large number of delivery riders who might want to break their fast, there are many who have pledged a certain number of boxes for the riders.
These initiatives by several companies and restaurants highlight how people are truly working towards the society. Not to mention, it also offers riders a moment of relief and a nourishing meal that helps them realise how their work is being acknowledged.
