As the 10th Salik Gate in Dubai opened, there were a lot of rumours abuzz on social media regarding the toll fees. In fact, a widely circulated note on social media mentioned how the company might implement dynamic pricing for tollgates in the emirate. Yes, it mentioned how the fee would vary with a capping of up to AED8. However, this was actually false. Yes, the toll gate operator in Dubai mentioned how the claims that were being circulated online were inaccurate.

As revealed in a report by Khaleej Times, it was mentioned that Salik squashed the rumour, which mentioned the impending implementation of dynamic pricing for tollgates in Dubai. In a widely circulated note on social media, it included time slots and corresponding amounts. Yes, and the post claimed that the fees would be up to AED8. However, Salik revealed that this was untrue. As a result, they have asked the customers to refer to the official website of Salik for any official announcements or updates.

Salik Recently Opened Its 10th Gate

This development comes at a time when the 10th gate in Dubai, which is located in Al Safa South has finally opened its gate. As it happens, last year about 593 million journeys were taken through the toll gates. Not to mention, just from January to June, this year 238.5 million trips passed through eight toll gates. Yes, this has resulted in a half-year revenue of AED1.1 billion. With an increase by 5.6% from the same period last year, this is certainly a massive jump.

So, you might want to stick to the official channels and website of Salik, if you wish to know about the toll gate fees or any other information related to recent announcements. After all, it’s quite difficult to gauge, if a social media post online by unofficial channels may be true or not!
