Yes, nearly half of them, as revealed by research from Virtuoso, about 47% of them are divorced, widowed, or separated. Not to mention, the shift in this attitude and way of travel has been attributed to increasing financial independence. Complimented by enhanced safety and the desire to explore the world, the trend is seeing a rise.

However, keeping up with the trend, hotels and travel providers across Dubai are doing their best to ensure that they offer a safe and fulfilling experience. Yes, as mentioned in a report by Khaleej Times, they are tailoring their offerings in order to meet the requirements of solo female travellers. For instance, Al Jaddaf Rotana is offering special specific communities that have been designed to ensure that women travel safely.

At this point, it’s worth mentioning that the focus is on cultural awareness. Hotels in Dubai are also making them aware of the culture so they can be respectful and informed, as many of them are from diverse backgrounds.
